430 Galileo Line Organises and Defines Spaces

430 Galileo is the new furniture line from EUN, designed and manufactured to create and structure spaces, generating flows of movement and ranges of privacy.

Evolution and adaptation

Galileo evolves and adapts to the architectural characteristics and barriers of each space thanks to its flexibility and range of compositions and finishes

An exhaustive analysis of types of work spaces lets us offer the ideal configurations for each customer type, size and need, with no need for building work or masonry.

430 Galileo combines vertical elements, separators, work surfaces, acoustic comfort, lighting solutions, innovative technology and storage spaces that can be adapted to any space, making them highly functional and visually coordinated.

Movement flows

430 Galileo generates flows of movement and creates different work áreas

Highly compartmentalised offices gave way to more open and collaborative spaces years ago. But evolving work dynamics still require environments that can deliver on a team’s different needs within the same four walls and offices must be ready to step up to these new challenges.

Individual work in front of the computer screen is essential but is increasingly combined with sporadic meetings, coffee breaks, times of maximum concentration, team presentations and even training courses.

430 Galileo has been developed with a view to deliver on the need for order and functional solutions for these open spaces. The curved shape of this furniture collection is multifunctional and offers not only an advanced storage solution but the creation of spaces with different characteristics to work in.
The curved design lets zones be separated off for different uses and needs, such as a corridor disassociated from open employee work areas to set staff apart from visitors on the move.

Advanced manufacturing

The manufacture of 430 Galileo is based on an advanced cutting and folding system.

In the manufacture of its new 430 Galileo line, EUN draws on its experience in producing metal storage systems that is carried over to new interior office spaces where people go about their daily work.

Its manufacture is based on a cutting and folding process using a laser and punch press. Thus, a collection of furniture has been created that can be assembled without tools, thanks to a fastening system.

All of the know-how built up in industrial manufacturing and smart systems has been poured into this collection, which pays close attention to detail. Specifically, a new way of working with sheet metal has been devised so that the set-up of 430 Galileo is flexible and can evolve at the pace of the requirements of an office over time.

EUN’s technical office has made the most of the use of materials to enhance efficiency, as well as preserving their technical properties. The assembly using fastenings prevents damage to the furniture, which can easily be extended and new layouts made with additional modules.

What’s more, the angles of the folded sheet metal and the manufacturing process without welding give 430 Galileo a high quality surface finish designed for daily use by people.

We caught up with Marcelo Alegre

“EUN's 430 Galileo is an intelligent articulator and generator of office spaces”

We caught up with Marcelo Alegre from Alegre Design – who partnered with our team on defining the EUN 430 Galileo range – on his return from Orgatec in Cologne (Germany), the premier international event for the workspace furniture industry.

The office world is changing. What do new corporate spaces need in terms of distribution and storage?
New office spaces have evolved towards hybrid models that make it possible to combine face-to-face and remote work. They must have the agility needed to accommodate workers at particular times of the working week. To that end, personal storage spaces are needed that streamline the flow of people within a space.

What traits do offices require today and going forwards?
Offices are going to require a great deal of flexibility and to be able to create public and private spaces. Public spaces where ad hoc partner and supplier meetings and training sessions can be held, and more private spaces dedicated to tasks requiring concentration.

How does the EUN 430 Galileo fit into these international trends?
430 Galileo was designed to organise the space and promote flows within the office, dividing and generating areas with different levels of privacy. It also encourages connectivity and the storage of personal objects and professional material by applying new technologies.

How has the design of this collection been coordinated with EUN’s extensive technological experience?
The 430 Galileo collection was envisaged as an architectural solution able to generate spaces in the offices of the future. To produce this architectural volume, EUN leveraged all of its knowhow around metal furniture production to craft lightweight structures that would be easy to adjust and implement over time. These structures marry with the storage-space management technology EUN has been employing for years. It makes 430 Galileo a smart space articulator and generator in offices.

What benefits do modularity and the accessories designed for this collection bring to the table?
430 Galileo was designed in close collaboration with EUN to be fully modular and able to evolve in time, according to the needs of each company. It can be reconfigured, redistributed and expanded on in the future, in keeping with the evolution of the team or activities developed in an office.
