An ambitious project in which EUN Logic played a key role.

The Basque Museum, located in a 17th-century monumental complex, houses the historical heritage of Bilbao and Biscay in the very heart of the city’s Old Quarter.

To increase the exhibition area and standardise the museum concept that the institution wishes to convey, the works are being concentrated in the Basque Museum. All existing pieces and collections were transferred for this purpose.

The current collection, which consists of more than 50,000 pieces, is large and diverse in terms of materials and sizes, making it a particularly difficult transfer operation. Besides having the specialised personnel and machinery required, it was necessary to have rigorous control over the traceability, real-time location, inventory, etc. of every one of the objects (both during the transfer process and, later on, during the objects’ stay in the Museum). Control, care and conservation were deemed to be of paramount importance to the institution throughout the process.

Before the transfer, EUN conducted a study of the warehouse that would house the collection. This would allow it to propose a solution that would maximise space and offer the ideal solution for the management of the museum pieces.

The solution finally installed in the Basque Museum consisted of EUN products 620E, 610 and 220, as well as the use of a second floor. EUN Logic software was also implemented for management purposes, giving museum users full control over the museum’s content: the exact location of each item in the collection, all the necessary information regarding the transfer of each of the pieces in the extensive collection, etc.
