EUN’s FEM Simulations are essential to R&D+i designs
EUN innovation officer Manex Altuna discusses the Finite Element Method or FEM simulations performed for EUN 620 Storage Systems.
The structural components of the 620 systems not only withstand compressive stresses simply by maintaining loads but must also handle the bending moments caused by the inertia forces generated during start-up and braking actions.
The behaviour of these structural components when faced with the stresses they will have to tolerate throughout their life cycle must be analysed to validate their design.
FEM simulations help us seamlessly emulate the application of different ranges of combined loads across diverse structure areas. They let us detect and evaluate the most compromised areas and consequently act on them, ensuring a product that guarantees superior quality and safety in order to meet market demands.
