EUN Logic & SW services

Lander Dominguez is responsible for software development at EUN. With the company for six years, he manages and plans the ongoing improvements made to EUN Logic. Roberto Calderón, from Puebla, Mexico, is the digital transformation project manager for the Americas. We caught up with them to ask about EUN Logic & SW Services, and this is what they had to say.

  • LANDER: What are the benefits of EUN Logic & SW Services for an EUN customer?

Using EUN Logic, customers can add a layer of intelligence to the rest of our products, thus giving them control over structures and content at all times. By that we mean control over several aspects, such as the safety of the content and safety in its use and traceability, internal process management, etc.

In addition, thanks to our SW services, customers can make steady progress in enhancing storage space management. SW Services will support them throughout the entire EUN Logic implementation project life cycle, starting with the purchase of the licence, through commissioning and daily use. These added services mean we can apply the full suite of know-how acquired on other projects to the job at hand.

  • ROBERTO: Is there a logical association between the use EUN makes of EUN Logic software and SW Services?

The association is fully logical because one cannot exist without the other. Our expertise in storage space management means we can distinguish customers by their level of space management enhancement. We gauge the level to offer them the right products and services to help them evolve upwards. Software services are vitally important to this evolution, as they ensure that we are always at the customer’s level and provide insights into the next steps to take.

We know from previous experiences that if we just set up the software at a customer’s premises and leave it at that, it will quickly fall into disuse, which would sabotage the customer’s ability to leverage the investment made and turn out to be a dismal user experience. To prevent these problems, we crafted added services that we make available to customers so they can access software that meets their needs and that can grow in line with new requirements, and also to ensure they have software featuring the latest upgrades. What’s more, if a customer has other needs, we can validate existing processes with external audits in order to get the right certifications.

  •  LANDER: What successes have you had?

We have had numerous successes, but one of the most important would be the Euskal Museoa. This Bilbao-based museum had to clear out all its content and transfer its collections to an auxiliary warehouse as part of a complete refurbishment. Thanks to EUN Logic and the space optimisation solutions we installed in the auxiliary warehouse, the customer had control over each piece of content transferred from the museum at all times. It also had different metrics to determine what phase a project was in and what more was needed. Once the pieces reached the warehouse the museum could manage any internal process it was subject to before their placement in their final location. Now that the transfer has ended, Euskal Museoa has full control over its different collections and can organise customised visits inside the warehouse.

Another success story is NRFM, in Mexico. This financial backer, working out of the city of Aguascalientes, handles all the sales contracts of different car manufacturers across Mexico. When the company started to build a new HQ in 2017, it reached out to us for help in designing a central warehouse to replace what was then the several different ones around the city managed by a third party. Thanks to our collaboration the firm created an efficient central warehouse and took back control of contract management.

There are many other success stories we could point to. One is a major international food corporation in Dubai handling the daily manufactured batches of all its products, and another is the Filmoteca Vasca, a film library based in Tabakalera (Donostia) that manages the Basque film collection, along with several other cases around the world.

  • ROBERTO: What project are you working on at present?

Right now I am working with NRFM on analysing its processes to optimise EUN Logic and bring it even closer in line with the company’s needs. We also have a new implementation in Costa Rica, involving an important company in the health industry. We are working on the roll-out of the MUNA Museum, set to be the largest museum in the whole of Latin America, and are constantly generating new opportunities for EUN, since every day we see customer requirements that could be solved thanks to EUN Logic.

  • LANDER: Could you put some figures to the projects?

Following on from the previous question about success stories, in NRFM’s case, the customer is managing a living archive containing north of 2 million contracts and 1,000-plus loans a month. We have another archive in Catalonia handling around 100,000 boxes and over 2 million files, with 100-plus loans a month. Even though we work with much larger archives, EUN Logic can also handle small archives where there is very valuable content to be stored in each. That is the case of the Filmoteca Vasca, which today handles a collection of 15,000 films.

  • ROBERTO: If a customer would like to see EUN Logic & SW Services in action, what would you suggest they do?

In principle we usually put on an exhibition where we present the company's features and functionalities. We use this presentation to showcase the advantages of working with EUN Logic and how it will help a customer’s business. Then, if the customer asks for it, we can run a demo. We can do this at our offices in Beasain and Mexico City, or on the customer’s premises if that is what the customer prefers. We try to make the demo cleave as closely to the customer’s real needs as possible so that the customer has an idea from the outset of how EUN Logic could work at the facility in question.

Once a customer makes us its trusted supplier, we start to manage the implementation by arranging all the meetings required with the key stakeholders so that we can install the software at the customer’s premises and tailor EUN Logic to its requirements as much as possible. Once EUN Logic is up and running at the customer’s premises we organise the pertinent end-user training. This allows the user to be self-sufficient from day one. The training sessions cut the software adaptation time to a minimum. Finally, and just as importantly, we support the customer in its day to day operations, since our open communication channels can be tapped to relay any question or problem that occurs.

  • What would you like to see happen in 2023?

It would be great if we could close out some of the big projects we developed in 2022 and have the chance to work with new customers.

As Lander said, we worked on several major projects in 2022 which I hope will be fully implemented this year. We would also like to establish touch points with new customers to continue to grow EUN Logic and EUN across the American continent.
